Hands On Health Care creates generations of healthy people

By precisely adjusting the body’s tissues (muscle, fascia, bone, etc.), we restore proper function and eliminate pain and inflammation.

A graduate of the UCLA School of Medicine HELMS acupuncture course, Edward Childers, DO utilizes safe and effective medical acupuncture for a broad range of clinical problems and pain management.

A gentle, soft-touch hands-on approach that supports the nervous system to restore health and resistance to disease.

Contrary to popular belief, most “disease” is not “caught”; obesity, thyroid, blood pressure… is not destined by your genetics. Discover how to use whole foods and simple but profound techniques to restore your health.

Traditional foods and herbs have a wide range of medicinal and therapeutic benefits. Work with nature, instead of against it, with precise combinations that powerfully effect emotional and physical wellness.

Several years ago, I was diagnosed with severe arthritis in both knees and both hips. Dr. Childers recently performed platelet rich plasma therapy on both of my severely arthritic knees. The procedure, performed in his office, was almost painless and required no surgery, no general anesthesia, and no recovery time.

The considerable relief I have experienced after PRP has been truly remarkable. Because of Dr. Childers’ knowledge and expertise in the use of this remarkable therapy procedure, my knees are functioning better than they have in more than ten years. I have better range of motion and a remarkable reduction of pain.

After such great success with my knees, I am looking forward to having Dr. Childers perform the platelet rich plasma therapy procedure on both hips which will give me even greater mobility. I highly recommend this procedure to anyone who is suffering with joint pain. Dr. Childers is highly professional and extremely skilled, and he makes healing his personal mission.

I am so appreciative of the Hands On Health Care caring attitude and willingness to do whatever is necessary to help their patients.

Thank you, Dr. Childers!

Rather than just treating symptoms; osteopathic care treats you as a whole person. Because your body is interconnected and every system effects every other, we look beyond your symptoms and find out what is causing them. Then we work out a treatment plan using the safest, most natural combination of treatment tools available.

We offer comprehensive health services for people of all ages. Osteopathic physicians, or “DOs” for Doctors of Osteopathy, are fully licensed to prescribe medicine and practice in all specialty areas including family medicine, obstetrics, and some of us even become surgeons.

But Osteopathic physicians also bring something extra to the practice of medicine.

  • Osteopathic doctors practice a “whole person” approach. Instead of just treating you for specific symptoms or illnesses, we regard your body as an integrated whole.

  • For this reason, we focus also emphasize preventive health care. We want you to get well and remain well by restoring balance. Learn more about Nutritional and Lifestyle counseling.

  • Doctors of Osteopathy receive extra training in the musculoskeletal system—your body’s interconnected system of nerves, muscles and bones. It is this training that gives Osteopathic physicians unequaled understanding of how an illness or injury in one part of your body can affect other parts.

  • Osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) is a fundamental component of the osteopathic approach. With OMT, osteopathic physicians use our hands to diagnose illness and injury. We then restore proper structure and function so that your body’s self-healing abilities repair injuries and restore you to good health. Learn more about OMT.

My wife and I have been with Hands On Health Care since it began. We have enjoyed access to the best of general and family practice available, in our opinion, anywhere, not just Albuquerque. Health care from Hands On stays on top of the most recent and advanced knowledge, but what truly makes the difference is the time Dr. Childers and the staff spend with each patient, listening and not rushing. Good health care is available in many places, but quality health care delivered with humanity and compassion is rare. —Fred Barnett and Camille Luedke

Being with Phyllis as a client for the last few months has been a fulfilling experience. I did not know what to expect from a Health Coach, but I feel that the information I received from her has, and will continue to, impact my life significantly.

Phyllis is very knowledgeable. She led me to a new way of eating, thinking (and drinking water)! She is a motivator and she held me accountable to do the things I had suggested I would do. In addition, she is likable, charming, and fun to interact with. In fact, I have arranged to see her less frequently, but regularly for a while just because I would miss the interaction.

Thanking you for an inspirational experience.  —Iris McKeen
