NATURAL REMEDIES & ESSENTIAL OILS

Used throughout history in many cultures, essential oils have a wide range of medicinal and therapeutic benefits. A skilled practitioner uses their powerful healing properties in precise combinations to effect emotional and physical wellness.

Several years ago I was in an auto accident which caused serious spinal injuries—resulting in horrible headaches and total body pain.

Someone advised that I see Dr. Edward Childers. Dr. Childers’ gentle hands providing craniosacral therapy began giving relief soon after I started. Continuing seeing him has helped to make me almost pain free.

There are many things I admire about Dr. Childers, among them is he never has the attitude that he “knows it all.” He continues to listen and to learn. Another thing to greatly admire is his interest in sharing his knowledge and skills with others who are learning—students who are becoming D.O.’s, therapists, and of course his patients.

Dr. Childers’ staff are super! His wife Phyllis RN who is amazing craniosacral therapist also, and of course Grace, Sarah, the whole team are kind and caring people.

Sincerely and with appreciation, Martha Van Houten

Rather than just treating symptoms; osteopathic care treats you as a whole person. Because your body is interconnected and every system effects every other, we look beyond your symptoms and find out what is causing them. Then we work out a treatment plan using the safest, most natural combination of treatment tools available.

We offer comprehensive health services for people of all ages. Osteopathic physicians, or “DOs” for Doctors of Osteopathy, are fully licensed to prescribe medicine and practice in all specialty areas including family medicine, obstetrics, and some of us even become surgeons.

But Osteopathic physicians also bring something extra to the practice of medicine.

  • Osteopathic doctors practice a “whole person” approach. Instead of just treating you for specific symptoms or illnesses, we regard your body as an integrated whole.

  • For this reason, we focus also emphasize preventive health care. We want you to get well and remain well by restoring balance. Learn more about Nutritional and Lifestyle counseling.

  • Doctors of Osteopathy receive extra training in the musculoskeletal system—your body’s interconnected system of nerves, muscles and bones. It is this training that gives Osteopathic physicians unequaled understanding of how an illness or injury in one part of your body can affect other parts.

  • Osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) is a fundamental component of the osteopathic approach. With OMT, osteopathic physicians use our hands to diagnose illness and injury. We then restore proper structure and function so that your body’s self-healing abilities repair injuries and restore you to good health. Learn more about OMT.

I have been Dr. Childer’s patient since he opened Hands-On Healthcare and even before that, a total of 20 years. He serves as my primary care doctor and regularly adjusts my neck and back to minimize any pain and maintain flexibility. I am very pleased with the care I receive, the concern for my well being, and accessibility to him and his staff. I highly recommend Hands On Health Care.

ASK ABOUT OUR ONLINE SPECIAL FOR NEW PATIENTS

Being with Phyllis as a client for the last few months has been a fulfilling experience. I did not know what to expect from a Health Coach, but I feel that the information I received from her has, and will continue to, impact my life significantly.

Phyllis is very knowledgeable. She led me to a new way of eating, thinking (and drinking water)! She is a motivator and she held me accountable to do the things I had suggested I would do. In addition, she is likable, charming, and fun to interact with. In fact, I have arranged to see her less frequently, but regularly for a while just because I would miss the interaction.

Thanking you for an inspirational experience.  —Iris McKeen
