clinical nutrition for optimal health

Clinical Nutrition

Every cell, tissue, and organ in your body is in the process of replacing itself every day, month, and year. Their health depends on having enough of the correct nutrients in balance with the day-to-day stressors. When your body is not getting the tools it needs—and/or getting bombarded by toxic substances—your cells, tissues, and organs cannot properly function; they break down and you age. After enough time, you experience symptoms.

While allopathic medicine is the most effective system for acute medical and surgical emergencies, it has only a limited ability to change the course of most degenerative diseases. A collection of lifestyle effects and environmental factors accumulate over the years and develop into lifestyle diseases, or diseases of civilization. Lifestyle diseases are different from other diseases because they are are quite preventable.

Are you looking to live a more energized life but don’t know where to start?

Struggling with weight loss or maintaining your vitality?

I’ve been in your shoes.

The truth is, traditional doctors do not have extensive training in nutrition. Although they can tell you to change your diet, they are not able to talk with you in-depth about what your diet and lifestyle should be during those short visits. It’s not their fault. It’s simply outside the scope of their practice. They expect you to take charge and even find an expert if you need help.

So most people turn to the internet or mountains of books on holistic health, nutrition and healing—the most conflicting and confusing “do this” “try that” ever.

My Clinical Nutrition program unravels the confusion.

I go to Hands on Health Care for all of my health and wellness needs.  Dr. Childers is an amazing Osteopath who keeps me put together despite numerous inflammatory health problems.  Whether it’s an adjustment, cranio sacral, medical acupuncture or bio puncture (yes I do it all), I can attest to the top quality of his medical care and his compassionate caring for his patients.  I love it that not only does he have medical training, he stays up on the latest natural therapies.  I enjoy my visits very much; I enjoy their sense of humor, their intelligent chats and spot on advice.

I also signed up to do nutritional guidance and lifestyle coaching with his brilliant wife Phyllis.  I have stably lost 10 pounds in two months.  I don’t have much to lose but metabolism got stuck and nothing was working. Finally it is coming off.  The bonus of adhering as best I can to her program is that my cholesterol is under 200 without medications!  I am ecstatic!  Phyllis has been great in helping me adjust to my new status of retired teacher.

I highly recommend Hands on Health Care for all of your health needs.  You won’t be disappointed.  Bravo!  ─Roni, age 62

As we work together, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of the food and lifestyle choices that work best for you and you’ll be able to implement lasting changes that will improve your energy and health.

Each person has unique food and lifestyle needs. One person’s food is another person’s poison, and that’s why fad diets tend to fail in the long run. I’ll support you to make positive changes that are based on your unique needs, lifestyle, preferences, ancestral background and even your budget. I use a personalized, holistic approach to ensure that you will have great success!

And usually there are other factors present; factors contributing to unwanted symptoms and that are outside the realm of “diet”. In fact, these factors can sometimes limit the results of shifting to more nourishing foods.

Healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity and a spiritual awareness are essential forms of nourishment. When these “primary foods” are balanced, what you eat becomes secondary. I will support you in achieving all of your goals, from eating the right foods for your body to living an inspired, fulfilling life.

When I started with Hands On Health Care, I felt weak, was shaking a lot and lacked balance. I had high blood pressure, was severely overweight and my gastroenterology doctor said I had liver cirrhosis.

Dr. C recommended a program that included working with Phyllis to learn what to eat and not eat. As I met with Phyllis, I transitioned to a meat protein and vegetable diet—what a challenge to remove the gluten, dairy, sugar, and unhealthy fats! But I was feeling so bad that I decided to do it.

Phyllis showed me how simple it was to make foods like bone broth and coconut milk kefir that would help me heal. I learned that nuts were a great base for many things and almond cheese is a delicious non-dairy food.

I developed a recipe for AM green smoothies: romaine lettuce, spinach, strawberries, blueberries, cinnamon, vanilla and almond milk or kefir; blended until smooth and sometimes with Chia seeds or flax meal. Tastes great and gives me energy all morning!

Dr. Childers and Phyllis have shown me what to do to become more healthy! Their care and compassion gives me support and I’ve learned to take care of myself in natural ways. My blood pressure is now 120/80 and I’ve lost 65 pounds!! I truly appreciate what HOHC has done for me. —Jo I
