Your Heart: that faithful, steadily beating organ that carries blood to all your organs.

♥ your heart is about the size of your two hands clasped together

♥ it beats 100,000 times a day, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

♥ your heart pumps 1.5 gallons of blood every minute

♥ a normal heart valve is a little larger than a quarter

♥ the beating sound is the “clap” each valve makes as it opens and closes

♥ heart cells begin beating in the 4-week-old fetus and stop dividing shortly after birth

♥ as you grow, your heart grows by increasing cell size but only under certain circumstances can you make new heart cells

80% of heart disease, the #1 cause of death in developed countries, is caused by heart valve malfunction

Maintain a healthy heart

Why should you care if your heart and its valves are functioning optimally?

Despite all the progress medical science has made in recent decades to combat heart disease, cardiovascular problems remain the nation’s No. 1 killer.

Approximately 1,600,000 heart attacks occur every year in the U.S.; nearly a third of these are fatal. Direct and indirect costs of heart disease total more than $320.1 billion. That includes health expenditures and lost productivity.

Your heart is the most nutritionally responsive of the 78 organs found in the human body. Likewise, it is the organ most negatively impacted by faulty nutrition.

Yet your heart rarely tells you it is unhappy.
That’s why heart disease is the “silent killer”.

Heart Sound Recorder

The Heart Sound Recorder is a computer-based, noninvasive wellness tool used to assess the overall function and vitality of your heart. It is much like having your doctor listen to your heart with a stethoscope and then showing you a graph of what he was hearing.

From this graph we can determine how hard your heart is working and whether the valves of your heart are functioning at their optimal capacity.

Certain types of heart stress and nutrient deficiencies can be monitored by analyzing the RATE, RHYTHM and TONE of the heart cycle on the graph.

Stress and nutrient deficiencies can alter your heart sounds

♥ Your nervous system controls the RATE at which your heart beats. One side of your nervous system (sympathetic) manages your “fight or flight” response and can accelerate your heart rate. The other side (parasympathetic) manages your “rest, heal and digest” response and can slow your heart rate.

You need a healthy balance between the two.

♥ The RHYTHM of your heart should show a specific work to rest ratio on the graph.

Your heart should be resting twice as long as it is working. Observations are made to see if your heart is working too hard, or not working hard enough.

♥ The TONE of your heart is referring to the strength of the ventricles as they push blood through your body. The height and the width of the ‘lub dub’ sound your heart makes on the graph, shows how efficiently your heart is pushing blood through your body and refilling to prepare for the next cardiac cycle.

At Hands On Health Care we use this technology to support your nutritional needs as part of a complete plan of holistic strategies and and recommendations.

How do you get the correct nutrients for your heart?

At Hands On Health Care we always start any healing process with steps to help you maintain a healthy diet of whole foods from the healthiest sources possible.
However, modern commercial food, even organic, contains up to 80% fewer nutrients than half a century ago before most local family farms were dominated by large, commercial agribusiness and food processing.

It’s hard to get all the nutrients we need out of the food we eat.

The Heart Sound Recorder tells us which blend of nutrients your unique heart & body aren’t getting enough of—it is very specific.

By analyzing the graphs, we can see specifically which nutrients you need and provide a care plan. We use the Standard Process brand of whole foods supplements—chemically synthesized, artificial “vitamins” (most other brands) are not assimilated well by the body.

When supplied the nutrition for which the body was starving, heart irregularities disappear.
—Dr. Royal Lee, founder of Standard Process

By concentrating vitamins, minerals, fats and proteins from whole foods, the Standard Process company creates nutrient blends in the form the body has utilized since the dawn of humankind.

When I started with Hands On Health Care, I felt weak, was shaking a lot and lacked balance. I had high blood pressure, was severely overweight and my gastroenterology doctor said I had liver cirrhosis.

Dr. C recommended a program that included working with Phyllis to learn what to eat and not eat. As I met with Phyllis, I transitioned to a meat protein and vegetable diet—what a challenge to remove the gluten, dairy, sugar, and unhealthy fats! But I was feeling so bad that I decided to do it.

Phyllis showed me how simple it was to make foods like bone broth and coconut milk kefir that would help me heal. I learned that nuts were a great base for many things and almond cheese is a delicious non-dairy food.

I developed a recipe for AM green smoothies: romaine lettuce, spinach, strawberries, blueberries, cinnamon, vanilla and almond milk or kefir; blended until smooth and sometimes with Chia seeds or flax meal. Tastes great and gives me energy all morning!

Dr. Childers and Phyllis have shown me what to do to become more healthy! Their care and compassion gives me support and I’ve learned to take care of myself in natural ways. My blood pressure is now 120/80 and I’ve lost 65 pounds!! I truly appreciate what HOHC has done for me. —Jo I
