When I started with Hands On Health Care, I felt weak, was shaking a lot and lacked balance. I had high blood pressure, was severely overweight and my gastroenterology doctor said I had liver cirrhosis.

Dr. C recommended a program that included working with Phyllis to learn what to eat and not eat. As I met with Phyllis, I transitioned to a meat protein and vegetable diet—what a challenge to remove the gluten, dairy, sugar, and unhealthy fats! But I was feeling so bad that I decided to do it.

Phyllis showed me how simple it was to make foods like bone broth and coconut milk kefir that would help me heal. I learned that nuts were a great base for many things and almond cheese is a delicious non-dairy food.

I developed a recipe for AM green smoothies: romaine lettuce, spinach, strawberries, blueberries, cinnamon, vanilla and almond milk or kefir; blended until smooth and sometimes with Chia seeds or flax meal. Tastes great and gives me energy all morning!
